Islamabad: Pakistan is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than previous two waves.

Country’s registered death toll from coronavirus infections rose towards 22,000, but some data suggested the spread of the disease has been contained.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 1,119 cases of coronavirus were reported while 46 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 21,874.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 945,184.
As many as 887,095 patients have recovered from the disease with 2,494 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 344,512 in the province with 10,586 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 329,947 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,292.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 136,474 in the province with 4,247 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 26,409 confirmed cases while 297 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 19,844 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 571. On the other hand, there are 5,745 cases in GB with 108 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 82,253 cases in the capital city while 773 people have lost their lives.
