Azma Bokhari to appear before LHC to seek justice against ‘deep-fake’ video
Punjab information minister will appear before the court of Chief Justice Aalia Neelum at 9:00 am tomorrow

Lahore: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari will appear on Wednesday (tomorrow) before the Lahore High Court (LHC) to seek justice against ‘deep-fake’ video targeting her on the social media.
The sources said that Azma Bokhari will appear before the court of LHC Chief Justice Aalia Neelum at 9:00 am.
The provincial minister had moved a plea in the LHC and asked the court to take action against those who are responsible for damaging her repute.
On July 25, LHC CJ Aalia Neelam had directed Azma Bokhari to submit evidence to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) regarding an offensive social media campaign against her.
Justice Neelam had asked Bokhari to provide all pertinent evidence to the FIA.
Bokhari sought the court's intervention after an obscene video went viral, falsely claiming to feature her. She has clarified that the video is edited and that her face has been superimposed onto the footage to make misleading claims on social media.
In a recent social media post, Bokhari shared two screenshots from the video, highlighting the edited version falsely depicting her and the original version showing another woman.
In her post, Bokhari wrote: “I will go to the Lahore High Court tomorrow to seek justice from the Chief Justice. Is there any justice for us women, or is this facility only for terrorists?”.
She emphasized her determination to fight for justice, questioning the authorities' inaction on cases involving violations of women's dignity and seeking clarification on the current guidelines for such cases.
Bokhari expressed her resolve to take matters into her own hands and pledged to represent herself in court.
