Lahore: Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Ahmad Khan Buchar on Saturday filed a reference in Supreme Judicial Council against Chief Election Commissioner and ECP members.

In his reference, Ahmad has asserted that Chief Election Commission Sikandar Sultan Raja and other ECP members have failed to fulfil their constitutional duties to conduct transparent and free elections.
“CEC Sikandar Sultan Raja and other members of the Election Commission of Pakistan have demonstrated bias during the 2024 elections,” Bachar claimed in reference.
In the reference, the opposition leader appealed to the Supreme Court that the Chief Election Commissioner and other members of the ECP should be restrained from performing their roles.
