Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is set to file a review petition on the Supreme Court's decision favoring the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) regarding reserved seats. Sources say the ECP will file the petition today (Wednesday).
Last month, a 13-member full court bench, led by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, ruled on the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) petition about reserved seats. Justices Aminuddin Khan and Naeem Afghan dissented from the majority opinion.
The Supreme Court had overturned decisions by the Peshawar High Court and the ECP, ordering that the reserved seats be allocated to the PTI.
