ATC extends physical remand of nine in Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s case
The police requested an extension for further physical remand
The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore on Wednesday has extended the physical remand of the nine accused by 10 days, in the honey trap case involving renowned writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar.
The police requested an extension for further physical remand. Judge Khalid Arshad directed the investigating officer to present a detailed report on the accused, determining who is innocent and who is guilty.
Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar's lawyers, Mudassir Chaudhry and Ahmed Chhachhar, presented their arguments in court.
Ahmed Chhachhar emphasized the necessity of a 15-day physical remand to complete the investigation, stating that those proven innocent had already been cleared.
The accused in this case include Tanveer Ahmed, Qaiser Abbas, Rasheed Ahmed, Falak Sher, Mian Khan, Yasir Ali, Javed Iqbal, Zeeshan Qayoom, and Mamoon Haider.
The Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Khalid Arshad presided over the hearing and ordered the extension of their remand.
According to the court's directive, investigating officers are actively gathering evidence against the accused, with the investigation ongoing. The court clarified that those proven innocent will be released, while legal action will be taken against the guilty.
