ECP has also released schedule for local body elections in Islamabad

Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced that local body elections will be held on September 29 in the federal capital.
The Election Commission has also released the schedule for local body elections in Islamabad, while a ban has been imposed on the announcement of any new scheme in Islamabad.
According to the ECP, candidates will be able to submit their nomination papers from August 16 to 20 and the scrutiny of nomination papers will take place from August 22 to 26.
It is pertinent to note that the five-year term of the local government in Islamabad was completed in February 2021 and according to the law, elections were to be held in three months.
