Tokyo: Japan's capital Tokyo was rocked by a 6.8-magnitude earthquake, but there were no initial reports of loss of life or property.
According to the details, the Seismological Center said that the depth of the earthquake was recorded at 490km, while no tsunami warning was issued.
It is pertinent to note that it is the third earthquake in Japan in a row as on August 8, two earthquakes of magnitude 6.9 and 7.1 jolted southern Japan.
Japan's state broadcaster NHK reported that some coastal areas of Kyushu and Shikoku islands were threatened with a one-meter-high tsunami.
The Japan Meteorological Agency turned to X and requested the people to not enter the sea or go near the coast until the warning ends.
