Rana Sanaullah reacts to SC senior judge’s speech

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's Advisor on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah said that it is not the job of a Supreme Court judge to give speeches; rather, the courts must make decisions based on the laws passed by the Parliament.

Rana Sanaullah pointed out that there is no sports complex in the entire country with international-level facilities. He added that there should be academies at the provincial level as well, where international-standard coaching and facilities are available.

According to a local private TV,  the PM's aide remarked that when people have nothing else to do, they end up sitting in boards and federations, where they just relax and have no interest in working.

Rana Sanaullah reiterated that making speeches is not the job of a Supreme Court judge, and the courts must make decisions according to the Constitution and the law.

He emphasized that the laws made by the Parliament must guide the courts' decisions, as it is Parliament's role to create laws, and courts are bound to make decisions according to the Constitution and the law.

He also questioned why internet service providers are not being asked about the slow internet speeds.

It may be mentioned here that the previous day, Supreme Court senior judge Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, in a speech, stated that once the Supreme Court has made a decision, it must be implemented, and things cannot proceed otherwise.

He added that he would raise the issue of the implementation of court decisions in the Judges' Committee, emphasizing that it is unacceptable for Supreme Court decisions to go unenforced.
