Karachi: Pakistani fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi and his wife Ansha have joyfully welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on Saturday.
The couple has named their son Ali Yar. Afridi, who is currently playing in the two-Test series against Bangladesh, received heartfelt congratulations from teammates and fans on social media.
Ansha's father, former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi, is delighted to become a grandfather.
Shaheen will travel from Rawalpindi to Karachi on Sunday night to be with his family after the first Test concludes and will rejoin his team ahead of the second Test on August 30.
The couple's wedding took place in February 2023 at a local mosque in Karachi.
