Karsaz incident suspect’s husband secures protective bail
Natasha hit three bikes and a car before overturning on the Karsaz Road in Karachi
Karachi: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday granted protective bail to the husband of Natasha Danish, the prime suspect in the Karsaz traffic accident which killed an elderly man and his young daughter besides injuring three people.
At the outset of the hearing, the petitioner's lawyer Amir Mansoor pleaded before the judge that his client had nothing to do with the Karsaz incident. But he feared his arrest, and the lawyer pleaded for protective bail for his client.
The judge after hearing cross arguments approved the seven-day protective bail of Natasha’s husband.
Earlier on yesterday, the medical report of the accused Natasha revelaed that she was under the influence of the narcotic methamphetamine (crystal meth).
It is pertinent to note that earlier on August 19, Natasha was accused of ramming her SUV into multiple vehicles on Monday, resulting in the deaths of two people and injuries to five others. The victims were identified as Aamna Arif, in her 20s, and her father, 60-year-old Imran Arif.
The crash took place near Karachi's KDA Scheme-I area, where Natasha resides. Following the incident, she was detained by police and Rangers, who also impounded her jeep. She was later taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for a medical examination, as she sustained a head injury in the accident.
The case against Natasha was filed by Imtiaz Arif, the brother of the deceased, who alleged that the deaths of his brother and niece were due to her "negligence, freewheeling, and speeding."
Police stated that since Natasha holds a valid driving license, charges of culpable homicide have been applied to her case, along with charges of negligence and rash driving.
