Nawaz blames Imran for inflation in Pakistan
Claims PML-N will rescue masses from expensive power bills
Lahore: Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-N President Mian Nawaz Sharif on Saturday blamed the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan for inflation in the country.
"PTI has pushed the people into the quagmire of expensive electricity and inflation due to its poor policies, he added.
The PML-N supremo was addressing a consultative meeting of the PML-N held in Lahore to review relief measures being taken by the federal and Punjab governments.
The meeting presided over by party president Nawaz Sharif was also attended by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz.
In the emergency consultation meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif gave a detailed briefing to the participants about the new government's economic policy.
During the meeting, the political and economic situation of the country and development projects came under discussion.
Meanwhile, talking to media in Lahore, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said party meeting reviewed relief given in electricity bills by federal and Punjab governments.
He said party president Nawaz Sharif directed to reduce expenses of government to provide more relief to the people.
Ahsan Iqbal said Nawaz Sharif also directed to complete reforms in local bodies law as it was part of party's manifesto.
