Woman constable suspended for posting video on TikTok
While posting video on social media, she also revealed her duty location
Karachi: A woman constable of Karachi police suspended for posting her video on TikTok during duty while revealing her location.
The DIG South issued the suspension orders, citing the police force's commitment to professionalism and the importance of maintaining discipline within its ranks.
According to a notification, constable Maria Gill was posted at Gizri Police Station District South, was suspended with immediate effect for improper and irresponsible behavior towards performance of official duties at place of deployment, leading to negligence and dereliction of duty.
The DIG emphasised that such irresponsible behaviour cannot be tolerated within a professional institution.
This incident follows a broader directive from the federal government, which has prohibited government employees from using social media without prior permission.
The Establishment Division has also issued an office memorandum to reinforce this policy.
