MM1 satellite test was a success: SUPARCO
MM2 will be launched in the next years, said Chairman SUPARO

Islamabad: Chairman Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) Muhammad Yusuf Khan said that the MM1 satellite test was successful.
Speaking at the successful test ceremony of PakSat MM1, Chairman SUPARO Mohammad Yusuf Khan stated that it started in 2001. Now MM1 and MM2 will be launched in the next years. We are working as per the government's vision of Digital Pakistan. SUPARCO is playing a role in development sectors including food security, pharmacy. The Government of Pakistan has approved the Space Policy which will improve the services.
Minister of State for Information Technology Shizah Fatima sttaed in her speech at the event that she congratulated the SUPARCO team for launching MM1 by working day and night. We have created Pakistan's first National Space Policy, which is not easy. The most important thing about space policy is that we can get many benefits from it. No sector can thrive without connectivity and its only source is the internet.
The Minister of State further said that Pakistan is a big country where it is very difficult to bring internet to rural areas. PakSat MM1 can play an important role in the complex task of connectivity in Pakistan. When education and health are digitised, it will revolutionize Pakistan. We have not been able to do that in the last seven decades.
