Four officials including Deputy, Assistant Superintendents of Adiala Jail suspended
Seven employees were found guilty in the inquiry
Rawalpindi: The Punjab government dismissed four officials including Deputy Superintendent Muhammad Akram and Assistant Superintendent Riaz Khan of Adiala Jail Rawalpindi.
The Punjab Interior Department has also issued a notification for the dismissal of the officers and personnel of Adiala Jail.
It was stated in the statement that the officials were dismissed after being found guilty in the investigation of the murder of the prisoner. An inquiry into the murder of an inmate on February 29 was going on in the mental patient cell of Adiala Jail. The IG Prisons Punjab had ordered an inquiry into the murder incident.
According to the notification, seven employees, including the Deputy Superintendent, were found guilty in the inquiry, and four of them were recommended for dismissal.
It is pertinent to note that for some time other prison officers and officials including former Deputy Superintendent Muhammad Akram were detained in Adiala Jail on the charge of facilitating Imran Khan, but later he was released.
