Karachi: Veteran politician and former National Assembly speaker Illahi Bux Soomro passed aways on Wednesday.
He was admitted to a private hospital in Karachi where he breathed his last.
His body will be transported to his ancestral village, Jacobabad, for funeral prayers which will be held tomorrow (Thursday).
Served as the 16th speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Soomro hailed from an influential political family of Sindh. He served as the National Assembly speaker from 1997 to 2001.
Moreover, he held key ministries at the federal level.
