PTI intra-party election case: Court bars ECP from final decision
Court ordered the Assistant Attorney General to submit a written statement at the next hearing
Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) stopped the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) from taking a final decision in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) intra-party election case.
LHC issued a writ of petition against the PTI intra-party election and non-allotment of the election symbol of the bat.
The written order said that the ECP requested to adjourn the case. The court restrained the Election Commission from taking a final decision on the PTI intra-party election.
The court order further said that the Assistant Attorney General should submit a written statement at the next hearing. ECP should not take a final decision on the notice of April 30, 2024, regarding the PTI intra-party election.
Later, the LHC adjourned further hearing till December 13 on the petition against PTI intra-party election and non-allotment of the election symbol of the bat.
