Constitutional Amendments: President Zardari to visit Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman
The JUI-F chief’s home has become the center of political activity in Pakistan
Islamabad: In anticipation of President Asif Ali Zardari's expected visit, security has been tightened at Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman's residence in Islamabad.
The JUI-F chief’s home has become the center of political activity in Pakistan since the government has initiated discussions on a constitutional amendment. PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has made several visits to Maulana's residence, while top government officials, including Shehbaz Sharif, have also attempted to persuade him to support the proposed constitutional amendments.
After multiple meetings and dialogues, President Zardari is also expected to meet with Maulana, seeking his support for the constitutional package.
It is important to note that just a few days ago, Maulana and President Zardari met during a dinner hosted by former PM Nawaz Sharif at his residence in Jati Umra, Raiwind, Lahore.
