77th Foundation Day of Azad Jammu, Kashmir celebrated today

Muzaffarabad: The 77th Foundation Day of Azad Jammu and Kashmir is being celebrated on Thursday with great enthusiasm and renewed commitment.

On the occasion of the 77th foundation day of Azad Kashmir, a 21-gun salute was fired in Muzaffarabad. The day started with prayer ceremonies in which special prayers were offered for the security of Pakistan and Kashmir and the elevation of the martyrs of Kashmir.

After the gun salute, the slogans of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir Zindabad were also raised.

It is pertinent to note that on October 24, 1947, Kashmiri Muslims liberated a part of the state of Jammu and Kashmir by carrying out an armed struggle against the domination of the cruel Dogra rulers. Historically, there was a majority of Muslims in Kashmir, while in 1947, Maharaja Hari Singh of Kashmir annexed Kashmir to India.

In 1947, the Kashmiris started an independence movement against the Indian occupation and local leaders tried to establish a separate identity and government for the region. The Kashmiri people and tribal forces together dared to stand against the Indian forces.

On October 24, 1947, Kashmiris declared their government in Muzaffarabad. The foundation day commemorates the great history of 1947 when the Kashmiri people declared their independence. In the freedom struggle of Azad Kashmir, the Kashmiri people strongly resisted Indian domination.

The independent government was established on October 24, 1947 under the leadership of Sardar Ibrahim Khan. The establishment of Azad Kashmir government was the first step towards the victory and independence of the oppressed Kashmiris.

Every year on the occasion of Foundation Day, Kashmir's historical freedom struggle is commemorated. The establishment of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir government was the result of the passion and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people. Foundation Day is an important milestone in the history of Kashmir when Kashmiris stepped on the path of freedom.
