Smog is humane issue, not political, should be discussed with India: Maryam

Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz said that smog is not a political but a humane problem, and has to be discussed with India.
Speaking at the Diwali ceremony in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz stated that she is thinking of writing a letter to the Chief Minister of Indian Punjab regarding smog which has to be solved.
She added that the winds do not know that there is a border between the two countries, unless the two Punjabs take measures together, it is impossible to fight smog.
Chief Minister Punjab further said that the protection of minorities is their priority. Sikhs, Hindus and Christians are all equal Pakistanis. “I welcome the Hindu community on the occasion of Diwali. It is a lamp to bring hearts together, we are all Pakistanis without any discrimination”.
On the occasion, Maryam Nawaz announced the introduction of the Minority Card on December 20 through which Rs10,500 will be given to deserving minorities. She also announced Rs15,000 Eid gift per person for 1,400 families on the Diwali festival.
Chief Minister also stated that Diwali gifts connect hearts, there is no discrimination in her plan but has doubled the funds for the minority community.
