Prosecutor Raja Naveed requested a physical remand for 20 days


Islamabad: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Islamabad handed over the two arrested former MPs of Balochistan National Party (BNP) Mengal to the police on a two-day physical remand.
The case was heard by Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain and the accused Akhtar Hussain Longo and Shafi Muhammad were produced in the ATC on completion of a five-day physical remand.
Prosecutor Raja Naveed requested a physical remand for 20 days. The court reserved the decision on physical remand after hearing the arguments of the parties.
The police left the judicial complex with Akhtar Hussain Longo and Shafi Mohammad, and Syed Pervez Zahoor, Hafiz Manwar, Sajid Tareen, Agha Hassan and Amanullah Kunrani appeared in the court on behalf of the arrested MPs.
During the hearing, lawyer Syed Pervez Zahoor said that neither there is any witness nor the plaintiff has come forward, no weapon can be taken into the Parliament House, no weapon has been recovered during the five-day physical remand.
Prosecutor Raja Naveed said that it should be investigated why they entered the Parliament House as it is a sensitive building.
It is pertinent to note that the police station secretariat has registered a case against the accused under the anti-terrorism section.
