US Congressmen letter for Khan’s release termed interference in domestic affairs
Letter stated that Imran Khan has introduced political violence and criminal threats against state institutions

Islamabad: The members of the assembly termed the letter written by the US Congressmen to President Joe Biden for the release of Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan as interference in the country's affairs.
160 members of the Pakistani Parliament wrote a letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in this regard.
The members of parliament wrote in the letter that the members as parliamentarians believe that through the Prime Minister, the Congress members should be informed that Pakistan is facing democratic challenges which have been further complicated by the politics of extremism.
The letter stated that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has introduced political violence and criminal threats against state institutions. On May 9, 2023, he staged mass riots and vandalism and incited the mob to attack Parliament, the state television building, and Radio Pakistan.
The MPs said in the letter that Imran Khan paralyzed the country with anarchic politics in August 2014 and also in May 2022. He has been inciting activists from jail to incite chaos and violence in Islamabad and Lahore.
In the letter written to the Prime Minister, it was further stated that the founder of PTI used social media to fuel digital terrorism, anarchy, and unrest. Deviant elements based in US and UK are playing a role in the negative campaign of founder PTI Imran Khan.
