Islamabad: The federal government has decided to introduce legislation to end dual citizenship for judges and bureaucrats, following similar measures taken for parliamentarians.
According to media reports, the proposed law is currently under consideration by the secretary committee, which has received recommendations from the Ministry of Law advocating against dual citizenship for these officials.
The committee is expected to finalise its recommendations soon.
Following parliamentary approval of the new law, the government will take stringent actions, requiring members of the judiciary and government officials to relinquish their dual citizenship status.
