PTV will have HD transmission in August: Fawad Chaudhry
Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Fawad Chaudhry has announced that state-run Pakistan Television (PTV) will also become fully HD in the first week of August.

While addressing the National Assembly session, Fawad said that Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) will be transformed into a digital media news agency on the pattern of Agence France-Presse (AFP) and Reuters.
“Radio Pakistan will be completely digitalized as part of efforts by the government to strengthen the institutions. New programming of Radio Pakistan will be visible in the month of August this year,” he said.
The Information Minister regretted that the previous governments used the state owned media as their spokesperson but Ministry of Information, under the government of Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaaf (PTI), will promote the narrative of Pakistan.
Information Minister further said that all media outlets including 250 domestic and 43 foreign are working independently.
“Government has started the process to provide unprecedented facilitation to the journalist community. They have been made part of Kamyab Jawan and Naya Pakistan Housing Program,” he said.
The National Assembly today approved three demands for grants pertaining to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for the next fiscal year.
