Lahore: The Punjab government has announced summer vacations for schools starting from July 1 to August 1.

Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas announced holidays in a tweet.

Summer vacation for Schools of Punjab to start July 1st, 2021 till August 1st, 2021. In these times of vacation, my request to all the children and their families is to follow SOPs issued by the government.

Earlier in the day, the central government announed that the federal educational institutions will remain closed from July 18 till August 01.
According to details, the government has decided to keep federal educational institutes closed for two weeks and a notification has also been issued in this regard.
A day earlier, National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) had advised to keep educational institutes closed from July 18 till August 01; however Punjab government had suggested keeping summer holidays for one month spanning from July 01 till August 01.
The decision on provincial educational institutions will be taken in today’s meeting.
Educational institutions across the country suffered immensely due to coronavirus outbreak since March 2020. With country experiencing decline in Covid-19 cases, the government decided to reopen institutes in phases.
