Federal budget’s approval is ‘illegal’, PPP will expose govt from Kashmir to Karachi: Bilawal
Karachi: Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bialwal Bhutto Zardari Tuesday termed the process of the federal budget 2021-22 and its approval from the lower house as ‘illegal’ and ‘unconstitutional’.

“Whatever has happened in the National Assembly is a bad precedent,” he said while interacting with the reporters in the federal capital.
He said the PPP has written a letter to the Speaker National Assembly and identified the rules regarding budget, adding the entire process of passing budget is illegal.
Lambasting the PTI government for presenting anti-masses budget, the PPP stalwart said the party would expose the budget from Kashmir to Karachi.
“The government has got IMF-influenced budget approved ‘forcibly’ from the National Assembly,” he said, adding the MNAs had been robbed of their right of franchise.
He claimed as per his promise all PPP MNAs were present in the house at the time of passage of the budget, questoning why MNAs of other opposition parties were not present in the lower house.
He said he would take up the matter of short quorum on opposition benches with the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif.
Bilawal said if it's such a stupendous budget and if the economy is on a growth trajectory, then why were the government members hiding?
"The government had lost its moral legitimacy, now it has lost its legal legitimacy," he opined.
The only way, he sais, the Opposition could put up effective resistance is when the leader of the Opposition is present in the House.
The PPP chief said that the Opposition was neither heard, nor their votes counted, adding the only option is now to turn to the people.
