A statement regarding the separation was issued by the lawyers of AR Rahman’s wife.

“Despite their deep love for each other, a great distance had developed between the couple due to bitterness and difficulties, which both were unable to overcome,” they added.
The statement further said that Saira took this decision due to grief and anguish. She requests the public to take care of her privacy and emotions during this difficult time.
