Good moral values side by side education must for youth empowerment: PU academician
Urges the youth, particularly Generation Z, to behave responsibly online

Lahore: A senior academician from the University of the Punjab, Dr Lubna Zaheer has emphasised the importance of good moral values side by side education for youth empowerment.
Ms Zaheer, who is the Chairperson of the Film and Broadcasting department of PU, uttered these while during her participation as a guest speaker in a youth conference organised by the Alkhidmat Foundation.
The event featured several esteemed speakers, including Dr Sameeha Raheel Qazi, Global Ambassador of Alkhidmat Foundation; Dr Faleeha Kazmi, Vice Chancellor of the University of Home Economics; and Dr Humaira Tariq, Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Women Wing.
Dr Lubna Zaheer talked passionately about youth empowerment, emphasizing the importance of good moral values, which she asserted are far more significant than mere education.
She urged the youth, particularly Generation Z, who are avid digital media users, to behave responsibly online.
Highlighting the ethical challenges of the digital age, she noted that name-calling and personal attacks are often misinterpreted as freedom of expression and spreading fake news is mistakenly viewed as political participation.
She stressed that responsible digital behaviour is vital for a progressive society, urging young people to verify information before sharing it.
She concluded by saying that strong moral values combined with responsible use of technology can lead to a more ethical, informed and united society.
