Internet, mobile services to be partially suspended in Islamabad, KP, Punjab
PTA will activate a firewall on mobile internet service from November 22
Islamabad: The government has decided to shut down internet and mobile phone services in the federal capital, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Punjab from November 23.
According to the details, internet and mobile phone services may be suspended in various districts of Islamabad, KP, and Punjab.
It is also reported that the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) will activate a firewall on mobile internet service from November 22 which will slow down the internet service and videos and audio will not be able to be downloaded on social media apps.
Reports suggest that considering the situation, internet and mobile services may be suspended at specific places at any time.
It is pertinent to note that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has called for a protest in Islamabad on November 24 and PTI leaders say that preparations for the protest are in full swing and this time the protest will not end until all demands are fulfilled.
