Former cricketer, umpire Nazir Jr. passes away
Family stated that Nazir Jr. was taken to the hospital yesterday when his health deteriorated
Lahore: Former national Test cricketer and umpire Muhammad Nazir Junior has passed away.
According to the details, former Test cricketer Nazir Jr., who was seriously ill for a few days, has passed away. His son Noman Nazir has confirmed his father’s death.
The family stated that Nazir Jr. was taken to the hospital yesterday when his health deteriorated.
He was injured in a traffic accident five years ago, after which his health had been deteriorating, added the family.
It is pertinent to note that former Test cricketer Nazir Jr. has played 14 Tests and 4 ODIs for Pakistan.
Nazir Jr. has taken a total of 37 wickets, and he is also the first spinner to take the most wickets in the first innings of a debut Test for Pakistan, with seven wickets.
He has also performed umpiring duties in 15 ODIs and five Test matches.
