Colonel Kim said that he ordered deployment of forces at National Assembly
Seoul: South Korean commander apologizes for imposing martial law and disqualifies himself.
According to foreign media, the commander of South Korea's special forces apologized to the public for storming parliament on the night of martial law and disqualified himself.
Special forces commander Colonel Kim Hyun said that he put himself in great danger that night, for which he considers himself an incompetent and irresponsible commander because he was the one who authorized the forces to storm the National Assembly after the president's order.
Colonel Kim said that he ordered the deployment of forces at the National Assembly and was the first commander to arrive there by helicopter.
“I ordered the military to seal the building, upon which the military forcibly entered, during which the windows of the building were also broken,” he added.
The commander of the special forces accused the country's former defense minister of using the troops incorrectly on the night of martial law.
