Islamabad: The Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder prices have gone up prodigiously by Rs19 per kilo to now sell at Rs160, confirmed LPG Dealers Association chairman.

With the new prices today update, the domestic cylinder of LPG will now be available, after factoring in a total Rs222 increase for Rs1, 889.
In the same way, the commercial cylinder prices have gone up by Rs863.
During the financial year 2020-21, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government provided Rs252.41 billion subsidy to the consumers by keeping low the petroleum levy rates against the budgeted Rs 30/litre on all petroleum products.
On the other hand, the government announced a hike of Rs 2 per litre in the prices of MS Petrol; raising it to Rs 112.69 from 110.69 while it announced an increase of Rs 1.44 per litre in the prices of High-Speed Diesel (HSD), which would now be sold at Rs 113.99 compared to old price of Rs.112.55.
The government on Wednesday absorbed the price-hike impact by making adjustments in sales tax and petroleum levy and raised up the petrol price by Rs 2 per litre.
As compared to the regional markets, the price of petrol in Pakistan still falls in the lowest tier, a Finance Ministry statement said.
It is pertinent to mention, that the LPG prices were hiked for the fourth time in a month and it is the first time to witness the rise in prices in the summer season.
Earlier in May, LPG association chairman Irfan Khokhar stated that the price hike is due to the affected LNG supply via road networks and that in 24 hours, the prices may go further soaring.
