Delegation hoped that US govt would also decide on release of Aafia Siddiqui before Jan 20


Washington: Following the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, a Pakistani delegation met with Dr Aafia Siddiqui, who is imprisoned in a US prison, for about three hours.
The Pakistani delegation also met with officials from the US Congress and the State Department for the release of Aafia Siddiqui.
Senator Bushra Anjum, who was part of the Pakistani delegation, told a private news channel that the discussions with US officials for the release of Aafia Siddiqui were positive.
She hoped that the US government would also decide on the release of Aafia Siddiqui before January 20.
She added that Aafia Siddiqui’s case is a global human rights issue. Dr. Aafia said in the meeting that she still hopes to get justice.
