MWM chief Senator Allama Raja Nasir announced to end sit-ins, leading to normalisation of traffic flow in Karachi

Karachi: Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen (MWM) chief on Wednesday night called off its sit-ins across the country following the successful peace agreement between various factions in Kurram to end the violence in the district.
After three weeks of efforts, a Grand Jirga succeeded in securing a peace accord yesterday after three weeks of efforts to broker a ceasefire amid violence in the area.
At least 130 people have lost their lives during clashes since last month. Food and medicine shortages were reported due to weeks-long road blockades.
The MWM had given a country-wide call of protests to express solidarity with the people of Parachinar. The sit-ins, which began from December 24 in Karachi, threw the traffic out of gear.
