Pakistan acting per global norms, as no country allows undocumented immigrants to reside freely

Islamabad: The ongoing operation is a continuation of the same old plan aimed at repatriating illegal immigrants, a practice conducted responsibly and transparently and should not be misinterpreted.
Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon has confirmed that Afghans with valid documents, such as Proof of Registration (PoR), Afghan Citizen Cards (ACC), visas, or those listed for third-country resettlement, are not being repatriated.
Pakistan is acting per global norms, as no country allows undocumented immigrants to reside freely, especially in major cities like Islamabad.
Afghan nationals are encouraged to carry their identification documents to avoid inconvenience during the verification process.
A dedicated facility has been established to assist Afghan nationals in verifying their credentials efficiently.
Social media narratives amplifying the issue are creating unnecessary friction and do not reflect the ground realities or Pakistan's consistent efforts to maintain good relations with Afghanistan.
Pakistan's approach underscores its commitment to upholding the law while respecting the dignity of Afghan nationals during the repatriation process.
Strengthening bilateral ties requires mutual understanding and avoidance of sensationalized narratives that aim to sow discord.
