Gaza: Hamas has announced the release of four Israeli female military hostages today.
According to international media reports, the names of the female military hostages released today are Karina Ariyo, Daniela Gilboa, Naama Levi, and Larry Elbag, and were all members of a military unit. These four female soldiers of the Israeli army were stationed near Gaza at the time of Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
According to foreign media, under the Gaza ceasefire agreement, 50 Palestinian prisoners will be released for every Israeli soldier, which means that 200 Palestinian prisoners will also be released today.
It is pertinent to note that on January 19, Hamas handed over the first three Israeli prisoners to the Red Cross under the ceasefire agreement, after which 90 Palestinian prisoners were also released from Israeli prisons.
