Rawalpindi: The Khawarij attempted to attack a security forces' post in the general area of Gulistan in the Qila Abdullah District of Balochistan on Monday night. The terrorists, after facing resistance, rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into a security checkpost. This resulted in the martyrdom of two soldiers, while all five attackers were killed.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the incident occurred on the night of January 27-28, 2024, when the terrorists, identified as Khawarij, attempted to attack a security post in the Gulistan area of Qila Abdullah District. The attack was quickly met with strong resistance from security forces, forcing the terrorists to crash the vehicle into the perimeter wall of the post. In the subsequent gunfight, all five attackers, including two suicide bombers, were killed.
Two soldiers, Naik Tahir Khan (39, from Tank District) and Lance Naik Tahir Iqbal (26, from Karak District), displayed extraordinary bravery and made the ultimate sacrifice, embracing shahadat.
A sanitization operation is currently underway in the area, and authorities have vowed to bring the attackers to justice. The ISPR emphasized that Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to eliminating terrorism and ensuring peace.
