FIA chief fired over poor performance in Greek boat accident

Islamabad: In the wake of the poor performance of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) regarding the Greek boat accidents, its Director General Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir has been removed from his post.

According to the report, the Establishment Division has issued a notification to remove the DG FIA from his post.

According to the notification, Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir has been made an Officer on Special Duty (OSD).

According to the report, major incidents of boat accidents involving Pakistani migrants occurred during the appointment of DG FIA Ahmed Jahangir.

It is pertinent to note that on December 16, 40 Pakistanis, including several migrants, died due to a boat capsizing in the waters of Greece.
