Appointments of 10 additional judges for PHC were made by majority
Islamabad: The Judicial Commission has approved the appointment of 10 additional judges for the Peshawar High Court (PHC).
A meeting of the Judicial Commission was held under the chairmanship of Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi in which 10 additional judges were approved for the PHC.
According to media reports, it has been approved to appoint Farah Jamshed, Inamullah Khan, Mudassar Amir, Sabitullah, and Aurangzeb as additional judges.
Abdul Fayaz, Salahuddin, Sadiq Ali, Tariq Afridi, and Aurangzeb Khan will also be appointed as additional judges in the Peshawar High Court.
The media reports stated that the agenda of the appointment of nine additional judges was under consideration in the Judicial Commission meeting, but during the meeting, the Chief Justice of the PHC demanded 10 additional judges, and the CJP agreed.
It is also reported that the appointments of 10 additional judges for the Peshawar High Court were made by a majority.
In the Judicial Commission meeting, three members objected to the appointment of 10 additional judges instead of nine, the reports added.
