Police officer dies after alleged assault by lawyers in Lahore

Lahore: An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the police has died due to alleged assault by lawyers in the Mazang area of Lahore.

According to the police, ASI Shahid and police constable Jameel had gone to arrest a wanted criminal near a Jain Mandir when, during the arrest, the lawyers allegedly attacked them.

The police stated that ASI Shahid's condition deteriorated due to the alleged assault by the lawyers, and he passed away after being taken to the hospital.

The police have collected evidence and begun searching for the suspects.

Punjab Inspector General (IG) Dr. Usman Anwar has ordered the immediate arrest of the perpetrators.
