Veteran Pakistani columnist Masood Ashar passes away at 90
Lahore: Acclaimed Urdu fiction writer, journalist and well-known columnist Masood Ashar has passed away. He was 90.
As per details, Asher's death has been confirmed by his son-in-law Hassan. His funeral prayers will be offered at 10 am today at B Block DHA Lahore.
Masood Ashar was considered as one of the famous Urdu fiction writers and was also awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz in 2015 for his literary services.
Apart from fiction, he was also a veteran journalist and columnist.
The acclaimed novelist highlighted social problems and enjoyed a distinct status in column writing.
On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar expressed grief over the demise of renowned senior journalist.
