New Zealand beat Pakistan by five wickets to win tri-series

Karachi: New Zealand defeated Pakistan by five wickets to clinch the tri-series.

Chasing Pakistan's target of 243 runs, the Kiwis achieved it in the 46th over for losing five wickets.

In the final game played in Karachi, Pakistan won the toss and was elected to bat. Pakistan's innings started disappointingly and Fakhar Zaman was dismissed for 10 runs, followed by Saud Shakeel for eight and Babar Azam for 29 runs.

Rizwan and Salman showed their hands once again, adding runs and putting on an 88-run partnership, but the captain and vice-captain were dismissed for 46 and 45 respectively.

Tayyab Tahir also scored 38 runs, but the later batsmen could only manage to reach 242.

The entire team was dismissed in the last over. New Zealand's Will Oro Rick took four wickets, and Bracewell and Santner took two wickets each.

New Zealand's innings

Chasing a target of 243, New Zealand did not start well and in the second over. Will Young fell to Naseem Shah for five runs. Kane Williamson and Conway batted responsibly for the second wicket, but Williamson was bowled for 34 runs on a total score of 76. Conway also returned to the crease after scoring 48 runs.

Mitchell and Latham also played a brilliant inning and played an important role in the team's success.

During this, Tom Latham got two chances in two overs, Abrar got Tom Latham LBW but did not review, after which Shaheen could not catch Latham in the next over. Mitchell and Latham were dismissed for 57 and 56 runs respectively.

New Zealand achieved the target in the 46th over for the loss of five wickets and thus defeated the Green Shirts in the tri-series.

Pakistan's Naseem Shah took two wickets, and Shaheen, Abrar, and Salman took one wicket each.

New Zealand's Will Oro Rick was named Player of the Match while Pakistan's Salman Agha was named Player of the Series.
