Pakistan's sixth polio case reported from Thatta

Thatta: The country's sixth polio case this year has been reported from Thatta.

The National Institute of Health's (NIH) Regional Reference Laboratory has confirmed the polio case.

A six-month-old child from Thatta has been confirmed to have the polio virus.

In this regard, the Pakistan Polio Program says that this is the fourth case of polio reported from Sindh this year.

The Pakistan Polio Program said that 74 polio cases were reported in Pakistan in 2024, while last year 27 polio cases were reported from Balochistan and 23 from Sindh.

Last year, 22 polio cases were reported from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, one each from Punjab and Islamabad.
