61pc of information from Punjab institutions is actively available as per legal requirements


Lahore: The Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) has published its 2025 report, declaring the Punjab government more transparent than the federal government.
According to the details, FAFEN has presented a report based on the level of transparency of the performance of institutions in Punjab and the report covers 253 government institutions.
The report states that 43 departments of the Punjab Secretariat, 27 attached departments, 147 autonomous institutions, 23 government companies, and 13 institutions were reviewed.
According to the FAFEN report, federal ministries are disclosing an average of 42 percent of information and the level of transparency of the Punjab government is better than the federal government.
The report states that 61 percent of information from Punjab institutions is actively available as per legal requirements and the subsidiary institutions in Punjab are providing up to 52 percent of information on websites.
The report reveals that most of the subsidiary institutions in Punjab have provided less than 50 percent of information on their websites.
