This is first visit of German national team to Pakistan after 29 years


Lahore: The German junior hockey team has arrived in Lahore after 29 years to play a four-match series with Pakistan in preparation for the World Cup.
The foreign players were welcomed by the Prime Minister’s Youth Program Sports Focal Person Olympian Khawaja Junaid, Secretary PHF Rana Mujahid, Shehbaz Senior, and other officials at Allama Iqbal Airport.
This is the first visit of a German national team to Pakistan after 29 years under Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s vision of reviving the national game.
The matches between the junior teams of Pakistan and Germany will be played in Lahore on March 6, 8, and 11, while the last match has been scheduled for March 13 in Islamabad.
It is pertinent to note that the Junior Hockey World Cup is scheduled in India this year.
