Terrorists behind Jaffer Express attack eliminated in joint operation, confirms DG ISPR
Terrorists martyred 21 passengers in Jaffer Express Attack; forces successfully rescue hostages

(Web Desk): Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, confirmed that all the terrorists involved in the Jaffer Express attack have been killed. The operation, which was carried out by Pakistan’s Army, Air Force, Frontier Corps (FC), and Special Services Group (SSG), successfully neutralized the threat and rescued hostages.
Speaking on a private news channel’s program, Lieutenant General Chaudhry explained that the terrorists had, before the operation began, killed 21 innocent civilians. He emphasized that the hostages, who were taken by the terrorists, were freed in stages as the operation progressed.
The attack occurred on March 11, around 1 PM, when terrorists detonated explosives on the railway track in the Bolan Pak area of Osi Pur, located along the route of the Jaffer Express train. According to railway authorities, the train was carrying 440 passengers at the time of the attack.
He detailed the challenging nature of the terrain and revealed that the terrorists used the hostages, including women and children, as human shields. He praised the swift and coordinated response by Pakistan’s security forces, who immediately launched a rescue operation to secure the hostages. The operation involved multiple military branches, including the Army, Air Force, Frontier Corps, and SSG.
“The operation was intense, and the terrorists maintained contact with their facilitators and mastermind in Afghanistan using satellite phones during the operation,” DG ISPR said. Despite the difficult conditions, the forces managed to free around 100 hostages by the evening of March 12.
This operation has been hailed as a significant success, not only in eliminating the threat posed by the terrorists but also in ensuring the safety of civilians under harrowing circumstances. The swift action by Pakistan’s security forces has been lauded as a major achievement in counterterrorism efforts.
The military operation also sends a strong message about the capabilities and coordination of Pakistan’s defense forces in tackling terrorism and protecting its citizens. The DG ISPR further assured that the fight against terrorism would continue, with full resolve, to ensure the safety and security of the nation.
