Khalid Anwar served as Minister of Law from 1997 to 1999 during government of former PM Nawaz Sharif

Karachi: Renowned lawyer and former federal minister Khalid Anwar has passed away at the age of 87.
Khalid Anwar passed away in Karachi, and according to his son, Advocate Rashid Anwar, his father had been ill for some time and was receiving treatment at a private hospital, where he passed away this morning.
Khalid Anwar's funeral prayer will be offered on March 14, after Friday prayers, at Sultan Mosque in Defence.
The late Khalid Anwar's father, Chaudhry Mohammad Ali, was the fourth Prime Minister of Pakistan. Khalid Anwar was a barrister at law and a graduate of St. John's College, Cambridge University.
Khalid Anwar began his legal career in 1962 and quickly gained fame. He worked in partnership with the late A.K. Brohi at the A.K. Brohi law firm.
