Lahore: Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid came down hard on health teams for not submitting dengue reports and warned of disciplinary action.

Presiding over the Cabinet Committee meeting at Darbar Hall of the Civil Secretariat to review anti-dengue activities, she said, “an increase in dengue cases may prove dangerous so indoor surveillance must be enhanced immediately".
"All institutions must work jointly to control dengue."
The Secretary P&SH Department, Chairman PITB, Secretary Auqaf, Secretary Agriculture and Secretary Environment presented progress of their respective departments to the health minister.
The minister directed that the Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners must ensure compliance with DEAG SOPs.
"People must keep their homes, offices and shops clean.The PHA must ensure cleanliness of green belts and parks. Secretary Auqaf must present report on dengue surveillance at shrines. All anti dengue activities are being monitored.”
The Chief Secretary Punjab directed to improve quality of reporting and surveillance of dengue cases, make it clear that, " Any negligence may result in increase in dengue cases".
The Chief Secretary also directed special arrangements for solid waste management.
The performance of all institutions will be regularly reviewed. There must be special teams to monitor the activities in Lahore and Rawalpindi. The activities must be updated at PITB dashboard.
Present in the meeting were Provincial Minister for Auqaf Saeed ul Hassan Shah, Chief Secretary Punjab, Additional Chief Secretary Iram Bukhari, Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Sarah Aslam, Secretary Auqaf, Secretary Environment, Secretary Agriculture, Deputy Commissioner Lahore Mudassar Riaz whereas Commissioners, DG PHA and other officials.
