There will be no media talk after the meeting


Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has restored the meeting with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
A larger bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar, Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir, and Justice Muhammad Azam heard the petitions regarding the jail meetings of the PTI founder.
The lawyer of Jail Superintendent Adiala told the court that till December, jail meetings were being held under the same SOPs. The status changed after January as there were also security threats. According to the jail manual, the PTI founder’s meetings are held on Tuesdays. After January, the status of the PTI founder changed from under-trial prisoner to convicted prisoner.
The Acting Chief Justice said that every person comes with a request for his meeting in jails. The lawyer Jail Superintendent said that they use the jail meetings for political purposes.
The Chief Justice of IHC said, “What is the need for a media talk after a jail meeting? He should go after the meeting. We will take an undertaking from him not to talk to the media after the jail meeting.
The IHC, while ordering the restoration of the PTI founder’s meeting in jail on Tuesday and Thursday, said that only the name given by the coordinator of the founder of PTI, Salman Akram Raja, will be able to meet him. There will be no media talk after the meeting with the founder of PTI. Whoever meets him will not talk to the media.
