Permanent mechanical rides can operate if they have a valid fitness certificate

Lahore: The Punjab government has banned the installation of temporary mechanical swings across the province during Eid to ensure public safety.
The decision was made to prevent accidents, especially as large crowds, including children, are expected to visit amusement areas during the holidays.
A notification from the Punjab Home Department states that the ban applies to temporary swings, but permanent mechanical rides can operate if they have a valid fitness certificate. These permanent rides must undergo safety checks and meet regulatory standards.
Deputy Commissioners have been tasked with ensuring that all amusement rides comply with safety rules before they are allowed to run.
In addition, the Punjab government has set up a central control room to monitor security and enforce government directives throughout Eid. The control room will be operational 24/7, coordinating with district administrations to maintain safety and order. Senior officials will be on duty to oversee the situation during the holidays.
