Lawsuit claims that Trump administration unlawfully made $11bn cut, which will severely damage public health

Washington: Nearly two dozen US states have filed a lawsuit against cuts to health sector funding.
The attorneys general of these states have filed a petition against the Trump administration in the federal court of Rhode Island. States such as New York, Colorado, Pennsylvania, and Columbia are among the plaintiffs. The lawsuit claims that the Trump administration unlawfully made a $11 billion cut, which will severely damage public health and increase the risk of future outbreaks.
The court has been asked to immediately stop the cuts, as these funds were allocated for COVID-19 testing, vaccination, and mental health programs. The US Department of Health and Human Services refrained from commenting on the cuts, but stated that the funds will no longer be wasted after the pandemic ends.
As a result of this decision, thousands of jobs are at risk, and efforts to prevent diseases will be negatively impacted.
